Remember how I shared my fan-girl moments with a few characters from hollywood movies. In reality, hindi movie characters are no less dashing. As a little girl, I remember thinking that I would marry the guy who could do the famous Shahrukh Khan pose perfectly; (P.S I’m still single and live with my dog. Haha). In recent times, considering how more emphasis is put on the character than the looks, there are so many people I’d love to date. It was difficult to cut down to a list of only 15 men, but I did it anyway.
1. Jug(Dear Zindagi)
If there was ever a therapist like Jug, I think the world would have a different perspective of therapy. Jug uses unconventional methods of therapy that teaches us lessons but somehow it does not feel like we’re being preached by him. If someone could understand your woes, Jug would. In a world where we are told to stop crying and to move on; Jug tells us to cry it out and mourn what we have lost so that we can get over it faster. After watching this movie, I saw parents and their disagreeing faces to the discord that Jug created in many of our lives.
2. Aman(Kuch Kuch Hota Hai)
He did not get the girl, because he is not the hero, because movies work that way. In reality, I would choose Aman over Rahul any day. Aman is loyal and committed. He loves so deeply, that he would do anything for his girl’s happiness; even if it lies in him leaving her. Though the movie glorified Rahul and Anjali’s reunion, do you not think Anjali made a mistake in choosing Rahul(for whom she has always been a second choice) over Aman?
3. Keshav(Toilet- Ek Prem Katha)
We always hear how a man went against society to marry a girl whom he loved. But how many stories did we hear of men who went against the society to make his girl comfortable? Most men fail to make the effort they promised after they get married, buy Keshav? He fought with the world to get his girl a toilet. How romantic!
4. Bunny(Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani)
Best movie everrr. Bunny is my inspiration. I think more than dating him, I want to be him. His ideals are something that I can grasp and perceive.
“Main udna chahta hoon, daudna chahta hoon, girna bhi chahta hoon … bus rukna nahi chahta” <3
5. Arjun(Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara)
He is a rich, dark, tall and handsome guy out on a Spain tour. His journey from being a heartless businessman to a spirited nature-loving guy is beautiful.
6. Aditya(Rock on)
A brooding rockstar of the past. Whats not to like?
7. Rana Chaudhary(Piku)
I love this character. Like the whole movie, Rana’s character is so ordinary and realistic, that in itself makes me want to talk to him and be with him. This guy has a good sense of humor and is very good in controlling his temper. He is controlling and forgiving in all the right places.
8. Vikram Singh Rathore(Khoobsurat)
Prince Vikram Singh Rathore *drools* is posh, sensible, well spoken and well read. He looks like he’s gliding when he walks, his dressing sense is impeccable and he is a complete gentleman. Also, I think it helps that Fawad Khan played this role.
9. Ram(Ram Leela)
People say they have passion, but no one is more passionate about anything like Ram. There is a thin line between being passionate and being a crazy ass-ed stalker; and Ram nails it by being the right kind. He knows when to hold on and when to let go. He is forgiving, yet demanding. A perfect concoction of good and evil.
10. Laurent(English Vinglish)
Laurent did not really play a big role, and I cannot really point out what exactly it is I love about him. Maybe because he makes French food.
Where there is love, there is pain. Jordan/Janardan loved wildly, fearlessly and without regrets. Nobody else could make you feel the pain that love can bring, better than Jordan. Through his music and lunacy, Jordan showed us what love should actually feel like. If someone was to love me in this way, I’d take it. I’d take it with open arms.
12. Veer(Veer Zaara)
Selfless love is the best kind. I am not sure if such a person could really exist, but if he did, I’d like to find him. Veer is the epitome of sacrifice in love.
13. Prithvi Pratap(Rajneeti)
He is understanding, caring and very much misunderstood in the movie. His recklessness has a charm that is lethal as well as seductive to dark hearts like mine.
Arjun values his morals. He sees through the physical attributes of a person to really take a look inside her. He knows not to judge the book by its cover. He is charming, understanding and well… perfect.
15. Jai( Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na)
I am not generally a fan of ‘chocolate boy(s)’. But isn’t it nice to think that your guy gives you so much attention that the rest of the world is just a blur, like white noise to him? Basically, you are his world. I’d like that, yes please!
