So the other day I was surfing through Quora, when I came across a question ‘How was your first travel experience to India like?’. The answers to that question were seriously giving me India Tour goals. The foreigners spoke of our country with utmost respect and passion and I couldn’t be more grateful for belonging to this land. So lets see a few things that attract foreigners to our country over other European and Western countries. So here are a few things about India that attract foreigners from all parts of the world.
1. Taj Mahal
Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world; a monument made by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, to house the tomb of wife Mumtaz Mahal on her untimely death. The Taj Mahal has rendered speechless many tourists and Indians with its beauty, calm and serenity.

India is known to be a land where people are connected to the soul. We believe in something greater, something that we can’t see or touch but we can only feel. Foreigners all over the world leave their careers to give a shot to redemption. Where else if not India?
Yoga is an ancient science of the body. It has been in India for the past 5000 years. In the past decade, yoga has gained popularity among the masses around the world, as a fitness regime or a way to let off steam. Rishikesh, the land of Yoga, is brimming with foreigners who have given up their worldly life to train under Yoga Gurus.
India is known for spices. Indian cuisine is one known to be fragrant and delectable. Kebabs and tikkas are all too famous among the Western Countries. They might find it spicy, but they’d still relish it as it is more delicious.
5. Festivals and Culture
Indian festivals are known for their grandeur and uniqueness. These festivals are not only about celebration. It is also about Gods and good faith. Festivals like Diwali and Holi attract tourists especially.
6. Dance Forms
Each and every state of India has its own form of dance. Indian Classical dancers are sought after all over the world. Classical Dance forms are learnt by people from western countries too. Indian dancers are invited all over the world to portray these dance forms.
Bollywood or the Hindi cinema is a Rs.3,500 Cr industry. With about 400 feature films released each year, Bollywood– based in Mumbai, makes the city one of the most visited places in the country. With actors like Shahrukh Khan, one of the highest paid actors in the world, and Amitabh Bachchan Hindi films are famous in almost every country of the world.
Though cricket is a way that foreigners love stereotyping India, we don’t care because we love it. Two times World Cup Champions, India has broken several records in the cricket world. The Indian Cricket team is dreaded by top countries when it comes to cricket. We got Sachin Tendulkar, Ravi Shastri, Kumble to Dhoni and Virat Kohli today.
India was the only major exporter of diamond for a long time until the mines in Brazil were found. Not only diamonds, Indian gold jewellery is well known for its intricate designs and carving. Indian designs are exotic and not found anywhere else in the world. Kohinoor anyone?
10. Freedom Struggles
The freedom struggle that India put up against colonial Britain had stories running wild all over the world. India had stirred the whole world to action when freedom fighters gave up their life to fight for a free life for the rest of us. Men and women of the country, joined hands and were victorious to take their own freedom from the hands of the British.
11. History and Heritage
Have you been to the Golden fort of Jaisalmer? Or the Ajanta and Ellora caves in Maharashtra? These places give us historical insights; from the time that man first laid down civilization, to how Kings and Emperors lived their lives in palaces and forts. These monuments in India play out elaborate stories of the past which takes us to a land of princesses and dreams.
12. Cheap Education
Some of us may feel that the Indian Education system is flawed, but that does not change the fact that Indians are at top positions in all fields of the world. Also, education in India is cheaper than most of the world, and with schools like IITs and NITs, the education standards are high and competitive.
